Ok, I've looked here and on the web, and in the 94 workshop manual. I can't find the oem front spring rating for the normal dc2 (well, DB8 really, but I'd assume the front is the same for the DC2 and DB8). I'm assuming its a bit less than 3.5 kg/mm based on the range of upgrades, but does anyone have the real rate.

Why - I'm thinking of putting it into the rear of an 84-87 crx.

Any help appreciated.

The DB8 is the 4 door Type R right?
Front is a straight spring and should be 4.4kg/mm in 96 spec and 4.5kg/mm in 98 spec.

Thanks for that. Its a jdm 4 Door B18C - sivtec front cut, not a type R.

I'm looking at using as much of it as I possibly can. Besides the engine, the master cylinder and booster, front calipers, radiator and fan, wiring loom and ecu, dash and cluster, and heater/air box will be making the transition. I've also put integra DA front rotors and read discs on the crx as well.

I want to get the rear a lot stiffer to balance the car better. In the other crx which still has a stanrard motor I have 204 lb equivalent front torsion bars and 350 lb rear springs, and thats a really nice combination. With a heavier engine in the project crx and the same front torsion bars I will probably need 350 - 400 lb equivalent to get the same balance. 4.4 kg converts to about 245 lbs/in, so they could be a bit light. But no harm in trying them out.

thanks again

those figures are for type r, you are getting them out of an Si so they will be closer to 2.5kg/mm, quite soft, I wouldn't bother.
