wanted to change the HU for the dc5s
but i have no idea which one i should change to and wat do i need to modify because most of the HU out there is 1 din

any input will be appreciated

its easy to fit a single DIN deck in the DC5 dash.
u can buy a Honda pocket like the one in DC5R which has a door on it, or just get one from a car stereo shop.

i have an Alpine in mine, very happy with it.

i dont know the setup of the dc5 so i cant help with the second part but as for manufacturers, alpine and eclipse make good quality h/u's. depends on ur budget and application :)

THe pockets usually cost about $10-$20 from places like JBhifi and autobarn etc - be warned, i searched high and low for one, and couldnt find one that fitted, even "universal" ones. Had to return a number of them for credit :)

THis was for my base DC5, which is the same trim as yours. I got a CD stacker in my second din with a single din HU in my top din, and since i couldnt find an aftermarket pocket to put there instead, the stacker is still in my car. only pocket that should fit is the OEM honda one, which should cost a bit more than at JBhifi etc.

Pretty sure you can buy the DC5R din pocket from honda.

well, then I guess u need a DIN pocket then... try ryda, they helped me find the kit for my previous install on euro and celica

anyone got a doubledin in there car? i wna get one in.. but never found out if they fit in the stock hole for dc5

from experience... i jus did my HU a few days ago.. after some research.
single DIN or double DIN should fit fine in your car without any problems.
i got a single DIN pioneer deck which i brought off ebay $200 cheaper then retail price.
if your looking for one of those pockets to fit into the bottom din mayb try putting a post lookin for one? im sure somone has one lying around somewhere.

aww! i wna get a double din, full LCD hahaha

but ill get my tints darkened :D

let me know what you do.. im in the market for a new HU.. the non anti shock getting to me
