What's wrong with the engine?

Hey guys,

I have a 93 CRX and its been running fine until this morning. the engine feels sluggish (losing power), the engine warning light comes on, and at low gear the engine makes rumbling noise like a WRX. i was struggling to do 110 on the freeway - even those semi trailers were overtaking me!!!! LOL

anyways i will need to get it checked out by mechanic, but it'd be cool if you guys could tell me what might be wrong with the engine.

sounds like you've dropped a plug or plug lead.


Check the ecu for codes - if any
check your spark plug leads and replace where necessary
check your spark plugs and replace where neccessary.

ecu will not detect a faulty plug or lead

sounds like MAP problems


as above check the ecu for codes it will tell where to start looking

you can find the SCS on the LHS side kick pannel on the pasangers floor well.

yeah i know, thats why i said to check the plugs and leads even if he's checked the ecu for codes cause no problems will show up if the plugs/leads are at fault. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Also check for water in the spark plug holes. Water will short the spark plugs at low RPM and work fine at high RPM.

something internal would normally make a loud scary sound. lol

hope its not ur timing belt slipping, my friends car before his belt snapped was really slow, sluggish then the belt just snapped right off! i know if my car even hints those signs id turn it off pull to the side of road just incase

Yeah could be internal. Perhaps a Tappet came loose or something :eek:
