Hi, guys
I'm ready to buy a new civic now. Before purchase, i'm just wondering whether it is a good time to buy ? For a new civic, if i buy the car now, the car will probably get delivered in Nov. It's less than two month till 2008! The car will be one year old after two month..... Considering the resale value, anyone has any suggestion? Thank you.

I'm biased as i'm still waiting for my new civic to arrive (in Nov). But as far as I understand.. the new civic won't have a facelift till 2009. So the 08 civic will be the same as the 07.

I'm not planning on selling the car in the next 2/3 years, so this doesn't concern me.

what's color of ur civic? I've heard BLACK needs even longer waiting time, is it true?

I think i may sale it in next 4 or 5 years.

I'm going to buy vti as well. May I know how much is yours?

Yes I've ordered it in NightHawk black.. i placed the order over a month ago. So my ETA is sometime in Nov.

If you are selling it in 4/5 years I don't think it'll effect the resale value too much. Personally I couldn't wait any longer for the car to come -this wait is driving me crazy.

I'm paying 26,900 for it.

I'm getting the interior trim set, accent lighting, reverse sensor parking and bassworks options. Oh and the exhaust pipe finisher. And its a Auto Vti.

I'm a little dissapointed with the price I ended up settling for. I should have pushed for around 25.5k and all those options as well.

Thanks. I'm thinking Sparkle Grey actually. Hope it's coming quicker....:)

No problem, good luck with your delivery time. Let us know when/if you've put the order in and how much your paying.

I don't know... he had to call his general manager to confirm he could do the 26.9k deal for me.. but I think I could have made his day alot harder and aimed closer for 26k.

I basically went into negotiation whith them whit the mindframe of: I'll pay 26.7k for the car, how many options can you chuck in? I didn't want their floor matts or tank of fuel rubish. So I had a list of options i was interested in.. as in interested in for them to give them to me.

I'm not sure if I got a good deal or not... but I reckon I could have made the salesman's day alot harder ;)

With no extras, and if your getting auto aim for about 24.5-25k

yea, something around 25-25.5k with no extra is quite reasonable. So what your paying is not too bad i think.

A toyota salesman told me according to some statistics, that only 7% of people buying new cars actually pay the RRP. Most poeple negotiate the price...

I'm ok with the price i got.. i'll survive. Once I get the car I don't think it'll bother me that I didn't get the best price.

Are you getting manual or auto?

Why don't u wait till next yr to see the cars that are going to be released with a new facelift, IMO the civics now just don't do it for me :(

It isn't going to be that long till 08. However, its still ur choice.

Good luck with ur decision.

I read the 2009 model will have the facelift... and the 08 will be unchanged.

You sure the 08 will have a facelift?

Don't think the civics will but other models. Civics are just so common and nothing special :thumbdwn: IMO.

Where do you live? Some of the Melbourne dealers have excess stock of Civics at the moment = a good time to do a deal!!!

What does it have to do with the euro?

There are going to be many models with a new facelift released in 08. This just doesn't include Honda. Should wait and see, not long to go

even if u get a civic now, the build date will be a few months ago so i wouldent be worrying about it devaluing in a few months coz it an 07 model. therefore, if u buy one in the first few months of 08 it might still be badged as an 07 build and valued accordingly. just something to look out for :)

imo either be happy with it now or wait for the update. alternatively, wait until just before the update and pick one up cheaper ;)

In yesterday's CarsGuide (Herald Sun) Yarra Honda are advertising that they have 55 Civics in stock.

In today's Drive (Age) Eastern Honda are advertising Civics in stock, most models & most colours.

I doubt they will have any black ones, but I saw Sparkle Grey in stock when I was at Eastern about 3 weeks ago.

Good luck!
