Hi All,

A friend of mine wants to buy a HRV. I looked at the threads here and someone mentioned potential CVT issues...

I know it runs a D16 which are hell reliable, are there any other potential issues that anyone knows about that i should look out for?

Thanks

it doesn't matter if there is service history or not, the hrv cvt's are prone to failure anyway.

honda has been quite good by covering many repairs at no charge even when the car is out of warranty, but as the vehicle is approaching 10yrs old i dont think they'll be so helpfull in the future.

the manuals are fine, no probs at all but i would steer well clear of the cvt's

quoted $3000 for a new start clutch on an auto HRV, not pretty

i honestly wouldnt buy a honda with a cvt, even the jazz have had their fair share of problems. sometimes they just need a start clutch, sometimes the whole thing needs doing.
DO NOT BUY AN AUTO HRV!!

manuals are fine, with little to no problems (only normal things that you would expect on a car approaching 10yrs old)
