I do not live in ghetto and its not too hard to turn a fuel cap to steal petrol. Extra 5 seconds. lol
So that is not a problem ?
So honestly that is not the only problem of not having a fuel cap ?

i believe there's something to do with fuel pressure..
hence the reason why the fuel cap has the sealing sorta thing.. and when u open it up, it has the pressure release noise..

i wrecken for safety reasons. ie static electiricty, or a nearby flame may ignite your tank

i think its fuel pressure something something
thats why you hear the air escape when you open it up to pour.

just get one and put it on...
Dude its like when you are hooning on the streets, you endanger yourself and everyone else around you.

is this a serious question?
ever filled your car up at a petrol station? notice how easy it is to push the filler nozzle in there? its just a little metal flap. anything could get in there.
heck, i could hunt you down and put sugar in your fuel tank.
if youre stupid enough to drive your car around without one, you dont deserve your car.

For cars with a returnless fuel system, not having the cap would cause a check engine light because of the drop in fuel pressure. Not sure what car you have, but the older cars didn't have this issue. Next would be the lighter fractions of fuel evaporating from your fuel and leaving through the filler hole, thus making your fuel burn with less energy and making fuel consumption worse. Then, you have the risk of water entering the fuel tank. If you look at how the fuel filler lid is positioned, rain water can enter between the gap and then splash down into the filler hole. Finally, if you let your car sit in the sun and have the fuel evaporate out your tank, someone standing next to your car lighting a ciggie could start a fire.

BTW, how did you lose your fuel cap? Did you do a lowie by leaving it on top of a fuel pump at the petrol station and then driving off? ;)
