Advantages over organic clutches:
- sustain higher amount of torque without slipping
- hard bite, great for drag racing
- no one else can drive your car (smoothly)

No point getting a brass button clutch unless you are making heaps of torque with a turbo kit. And even that can be handled by an organic clutch.

my dad has a brass button clutch in his mx5... its a 1990 1.6L with a custom turbo kit...

it has around 500Nm + and making 180kw @ rear wheels (on higher boost/track mode)

it has a brass button as most other clutches will not handle the power and he only got it as it only a track car, so the hassle of driving it daily isnt there....

iv drivin it a couple of times, on street and track... on the street its a pain in the ass.. as the name suggests it is like a 'button' there is no riding the clutch or anything its eather in or out... Lol.. can be embarrassing when doing hill starts or just normal driving, Lol.. will make u look like a noob :p

on the track its awesome, can handle all the power without giving any problems, and there is only one real start at the track so u just and launch it abit so u dont stall it :p

if u got any more questions just pm me or somen..

good luck man.. my only advice is dont get button clutch if its a daily... LOL! can get annoying...(although u do get used 2 it)

Im pretty sure that botton and brass button etc......are generally the same thing. Same goes for PUK. They vary from anywhere 3 to 7, 8 faces. They are of copper mix rather than organic or asbestos.

Difference amongst puks etc...are that you can get sprung and unsprung ones. Which are used for dampening mostly on engagement. Some use rubber and some use springs.

N/A street car with occasional track use, i cant see why you would want one as a good brand organic will do the same job.

Puck = Button = Wing. Same thing.

They come in diferent materials and No. of Buttons.

Difference between Full face disk and a Puck disk? Appart from the obvious difference in the way they look. A Puck disk has less surface area than a full face, so therefore you will get more pressure focused on these Pucks for a higher holding capacity. That accompanied with a heavier Pressure Plate, will give you a more aggressive clutch that can handle more power.

Puck Material, No. of Pucks, Pressure plate rating, can all influence the holding capacity of the Clutch as a whole.

I have a 6 puck ceramic sprung center on my Type R. It holds excellent, but 1st gear take of shudders a bit.
