Hey,

I am about to change the front rotors in a EK GLi Civic.

Does anyone know the size of the axle nut?

I pulled the wheel off today but I do not have a socket larger than 30mm (which was too small for the nut)

If someone can help, please let me know.

Thanks

I didn't think you needed to take off the axle nut to change rotors.
You better double check what you're doing again.

To remove the rotors, you remove the philip screw on the rotor.

u dun need to remove the axle nut, u will need to remove the caliper 1st which is hold by 2 17mm nut if i remmeber correctly and also the 2 phillips screw on teh rotor as mention by e240, u will need an impact screwdriver or something to remove the screw as they r v.tight

lol wouldn't you be pissed if you found that out later on, not that you can do it with at home with diy tools anyway.

you might need a impact screw driver to take off the screws on the discs

Get an impact screwdriver for $19.95 from Supercheap Auto.

You would have to be pretty weak if you need one.

you would have to be pretty silly to attack the 2 x screws in the rotor without one. You need the IMPACT "kick" to crack off the screws. With a normal screwdriver if you try too hard it can round the screw head:thumbdwn:
Then you got to drill it out y0 !

i didn't say i knew it all now.
and i don't know it all.
i'm stating what would be the proper safer way.
you asked for advice.
we gave it to you, we told you what would be the safest way to do so.
no need to be a smart-ass about it.

Yeah I know. Sorry...

Well i've successfully replaced the front rotors with a set of RDA and changed the brake pads while I was at it.

$190 all up which I thought was ok.

Thanks for the advice.
