I'm planning to get the latest ipod classic 80gb and been wondering about its capability to icelink adaptor. Will the latest ipod generation works with icelink? Will it be the same with 3rd gen ipod nano (new one with bigger screen)? Does the steering wheel audio control works with ipod with icelink? I would welcome any suggestions as well. Thanks.

If the classic has the same connector, then you would think it would work, at least when using the v3.06 firmware (latest for 5G iPods) and the IceLink R3 with the HONDA-B cable.
But according to this thread, it doesnt seem to work properly:

Hopefully the Icelink simply needs a reflash, but considering Dension dont even give links to their Firmwares anymore, I have doubts Dension will release a new firmware for the 6G iPod's.
Give these guys a call, perhaps they can tell you if the Classic is compatible:

I hve been reading that most / ipod accessories may not be compatible with the new gen ipods..
eg: im getting an ipod touch and found this site useful

Hi,
I just recieved my iceLink plus r3. I have a new iPod nano 3rd generation and a '06 Euro. I installed it ok, however when iplug my ipod in and select aux, the stereo just stays on CD, not CDC.
Should this icelink work with the '06 Euro, and/or the iPod nano 3rd generation?
cheers,

Merging this thread with an existing Icelink/Ipod new gen thread.

Ok I just tried a 1st generation iPod with the 120-HONDA-R3 on 2006 Euro and it still doesnt work.
Has anyone else got the IceLink to work on an '06 Euro?
Otherwise my IceLink might be stuffed.
