I have read through a number of posts where people have stated that their driver side window stops working. I know Honda fixes this under warranty, but I am just curious as to why this is occurring? Does anybody know?

it is due to the use of rubber window guides that dry out over time and is easily remidied by spraying the window guides with silicon spray periodically

Yep. It's happened to my driver's side window a few times, and front passenger window once. Silicon spray does the trick very well and it's nice and smooth again.

I also noticed in the FD, when you have water/thin layer of ice (don't know the proper word for that sutff which develops on your windows overnight in winter), you can't just wind the window down/up to get rid of it like in some other cars... can't be lazy about it!

but warranty only likes you for 3 years unless you pay up.
I use rain-x on my windows to ensure that minimal condensation stay on the glass, but it's better to just park in the garage or undercover.

Its a simple fix, still shouldn't happen though. I used to drive my wife's old Telstar TX-5 she had since 1994 (she now has the FD) and never once was there a problem with the electric windows. My 99 AU Fairmont doesn't have it either.

I guess all cars have the small quirks, just depends on the model.
