View Full Version : Enigne Overheating
Any advised is appreciated.
Installed I/H/E to my civic coupe couple of weeks ago. I realised that the engine temperature gauge rises madly when i am caught in the traffic, but when i switches the A/C it drops back to normal. I thought it might be the heat out off the header or otherwise coolant needed to be replace.
What do you think? Where is the temperature sensor connected to?
Cheers :D

sounds like your cooling fan has died.. if it comes down when a/c is ON, the radiator must be getting some cooling from the air-flow from the a/c fan.. they would have had to remove your radiator to fit the header, so they might have unplugged a terminal for the fan or something..
yep, sounds like a radiator fan 2 me

Had that happen to me once as well after my engine conversion. Try to change your thermostat...they wear out after a while....
Hope that helps anyways...GL with that...hated it when it happened to me

yeah check the radiator fan. when i replaced my radiator in the civ i forgot to plug the fan back to the connector and was wondering why my car was overheating when sitting in a maccas drivethrough i had a quick look and noticed my fan wasn't engaging and quickly realized i hadnt plugged it back in.

i thought a/c will increase the temp. of the engine....however, the heater will reduve the temp. of ur engine since it draws the heat from it.
Check ur coolant lv, ur radiator hoses for any sign of leaking, and ur cooling fan, or may be ur termostat.....just check ur whole cooling system immediately. Don't wait until u blow ur head gasket.

like the Guys said above, check the fan and its fuse and connector. also could be the thermo fan sensor. Id be tuning on the aircon at lights till its sorted.

have you left the car running after you park to see if your radiator fan run after awhile of your car stationary? If not that might be a problem.
