Budget $8K
The cross member (Frt) is a bastard.
You'll have to bash the chassis in to clear the alternator...
& the pasenger side engine mount fabrication is critical...
Other than that...
Cool... It'll be a rocket... :D

somewhat on topic, what happens to insurance when you put an engine in a car that was never "meant" to have it?

TODA AU,

What are your thoughts in regards to the use of bolt-in mount kits in engine conversions?

In the case of the B18c which is taller than the B16a the aftermarket mounts sit the engine lower in the engine bay. What are your thoughts in regards to changing the centre of gravity and how this affects weight transfer / angle of the axles etc.

I remember seeing a website with a black turbo CRX that was built by Hypertune that used a DA6? or DA9? rear mount and had the other mounts from the half-cut welded in.

Regards,

James.

LOL... Hello...
Now that's a Blast from the past...
Btw, I'm Ex-Hypertune, hense the usual nick-name to this day...
That being Hypo... In any case...

Tha diference is 7mm. Height of the engines.
The car is currently at ADVAN if you'd like to see the mounts.
Re droping it lower...
Rule of thumb, As long as the drive shafts don't point up (from the centre), it's all good. They to keep them flat.
Wee wee chasing C of G on a road car is a waste of time...
Worry about getting the thing under the bonnet (hood) & the bonnet to shut first.
Cheers

Adrian

B.T.W. that is still the nicest well built example of what I think a gen2 turbo CRX should be.
