hey, i have searched and cant find a straight answer.
what are the benifits of putting a b18c head on a b20 block?
will it fit straight on with no mods?
are the physical dimensions the same as other b series blocks?
and finally, are there any power gains, what will it at the wheels dyno with stock internals, mugen 4-1 headers and short ram intake? just rough guess?

It will give you VTAKKKKKKK
It's close to bolt on, just need a LSVtec Golden Eagle Kit which can be purchased from JDMYard i believe.
You will need new computer and some wiring done too. Gains will be anywhere between 1kw and 100kw... just a rough guess...

Benefits, extra torque which means power.
Dimension wise i think there the same. Just that the b20 has a 84mm bore and abit more stroke.
As for power gains, 1-100kw LOL

ok sorry, mis understood, the setup will be:
b18c vtir head
b20 block
mugen 4-1 headers
and all the rest from a b18c vtir integra.
whats this about a LSVtec Golden Eagle Kit????? will i need it?

You can source parts from other other places but that is the complete kit and will save you searching. Includes Oil line, Sandwich plate, Fittings, Dowel pins, head gasket ect..
I had all the parts ready to asseble, but then changed to the idea of a b18c.

Well you could make up the oil piping line yourself if you have the know how and just use a OEM head gasket, but the GE kit would make life alot easier

yeh, i forgot about that, thats why i didnt go ahead with my lsvtec. was that i would have had to pull apart the block to swap rod bolts, then assemble. Too much work and margin of error was too large :(

this is not true.
you can do the B20VTEC without a GE VTEC conversion kit
all you need is to:
close off the oil hole in the VTEC head (weld or use 1/8 pressure plug)
enlarge the two dowel holes in the head (drill matched to dowel pin size)
make a VTEC oil line (earls hose fitting - 800106, earls hose fitting - 806106, 3ft earls -6 prolite*hose - 350306)
remove the 3/8 pressure plug from the back of the head, add a 3/8 BSP to -6AN adaptor, (Pirteck or Enzed)
remove the oil pressure warning light switch and add a 1/8 BSPT to -6AN adaptor, (pirtek or enzed)
obtain a B20Bhead gasket (eg Cometic C4193-030 or OEM Honda)
and that should match the Kit, for a quite a few less bucks...

as well as the above, you also need a B18C timing belt, a B18C water pump

you need to tune it to get any decent power, withy that i'd say 100-110kW, more with cam gear and ECU tuning,

You do not need to do any modifications for dowels. You can buy new dowels for $25 that mate the vtec heads to non-vtec blocks. However this means you'll need to enlarge the dowel holes in the head-gasket. Though I think i'd rather get a new headgasket than modify the head. (Then again, I did get the vtec oil port in the head welded up so my logic doesn't really apply here).
I recommend the GE kit after doing it the other way. Boring out the stock headgasket with a drill felt a bit dodgey :D

maybe it felt weird as you are supposed to drill out the HEAD, not the head gasket?

Make up your mind son.
There are TWO OPTIONS:
1) Bore out the head and use stock dowels
2) Get new dowels and not bore out the head.
There is nothing cryptic going on. Back to comprehension class.
