There are more "Frankenstein" Hondas out there than you actually think..........

I see them every day..... Type R stickers, Powered By Mugen stickers, shocking bodykits etc etc...

Yep, these are the true "Frankensteins".....

scariest farkin' things on the damn roads if you ask me....

No man...

Frankenstein / LS-[acronym:d5ecf4f85f="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:d5ecf4f85f] = B18 Block + B16 Head
Mini-me = D15/D16 with [acronym:d5ecf4f85f="Single Overhead Cam"]SOHC[/acronym:d5ecf4f85f] [acronym:d5ecf4f85f="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:d5ecf4f85f] head
B20-[acronym:d5ecf4f85f="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:d5ecf4f85f] is B20B/Z block + B16 (etc) Head.

as for the K-series, it's just called Frankenstein..

basically ANY engine that has a different head than what was originally intended for the block and has mix-matched internals is called a 'frankenstein'.. so basically ALL of the above are 'Frank's'...

pfft - depends who you talk to - B20/B16 has always been frank to me - at least on the US 4G forums ;) mini me sucks anyway from the literature - great for 10K miles - then falls over :D

no it doesnt depend who you talk to unless they are WRONG..

LS-[acronym:560116c0a1="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:560116c0a1] has been around for almost 10 years.. B20 is relatively new..
I have articles in a US Honda Tuning / super-Street magazine from 1996.. FRANKENSTEIN/LS-[acronym:560116c0a1="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:560116c0a1]..

any mix-matched head and block will have a shorter lifespan than a stock motor.. doesnt matter if it's d-series, B-series or even K-series.. of course you can re-build the engine to stronger than a stock motor, but you are gambling on your chosen combination of parts and NO LS-[acronym:560116c0a1="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:560116c0a1]/B20-[acronym:560116c0a1="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:560116c0a1] or mini-me has run anywhere near 100,000Kms.. as far as I know.
