Some USDM shiftboot and gear knobs differ to jdm and audm ones.

I know for the AUDM DC5R its unscrew off and screw on.

You can always take off the boot and place a couple of rubber grommits over the stick so that the Boot has something to stop it from falling down.

I think i read somewhere on club rsx of somebody going for this approach.
Maybe just put some zip ties on the stick under the boot but dont cut off the excess, that should hold it in place quite easy.

EDIT: Heres the guide http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=454689&highlight=knob+boot

Does the DC5 lux have a metal knob or plastic knob? If it is plastic like in that PDF, then you just follow the same and pull the boot down before unscrewing.

Just put a ring of velcro around the stick under the boot and if your stick is a dual-bend, it'll hold up fine.

hey

i got my skunk2 gearknob on my car now, and i got the boot to stay up. you dont need to follow the clubrsx forums and take out the boot, use cable ties etc

all you need is get some double sided tape (nice thick one) and wrap about 2cm of it around the stick near the top of the stick. (a bit more than the length of that silver plastic collar thing) you can "unmask" the tape as well if you want.

then just pull the boot over it and it should be fine. the boot stays up and if you need to move it, you can pull down on it easily.
