Hi,
Are all oil temp senders generic? cause i snapped my one..


Also I got a feeling my gauge is reading wrong.. would it be more likily the guage or the sender?

No...it depends on the brand.

i know for sure that my VDO sender wasn't compatible to my other brand guages...its usually the calibration thats off..

what you need to check is what the values of the sender is, brand doesnt matter. get another sender that gives u the same values and it will work fine.

what value is do i check?

temp range? ohms?

well temp range will be given in postive or negative correlation to voltage.

therefore check what the voltage signals are worth for each temp range. Easiest way is to simply look at minimum and maximum values as most sensors are linear, then find a sender that gives the same voltage signal.

just buy the original sender unit frmo honda. or whatever car u have
