Guys

The individual Type R numbering, does anyone know what it means,

I would have though it started with 0000, but i beleive it starts with 4000

I know i was one of the first to get a type r, my number is only 4012.

Do you guys think 4012 is total production around the world?

Yeah I think so buddy...since there built in the UK its not like there is another seperate numbering system from the rest of the world...there built in UK and distributed accordingly

doesn't matter what number you get, just cuz its closer to 4000 doesnt mean you were one of the first.

they come off the ports and just get delivered accordingly to what dealer gets what amount and colours and stuff.

Yes the numbers are total production out of the Swindon plant in UK. They're up to around 9000 now in the UK. There's a lot of info on fn2r on the UK type r owner's forum :)

oh. not good to hear as i might be buying one soon.

i guess not much room for negotiation?

and if your dealer has stock while others have a waiting list, would they want to swap stock with you?

hmm not many dealers will swap them as the only get about 2 a month
u might be able to crunch a little.
we wont crunch our red one as its hard to get and very popular.

true!
i like it in silver doesnt make the car stand out as much and looks a bit classy.

They're the same reasons why I bought a silver one.
I also understand that metallic paint is known to be more chip resistant than non-metallic although ,I don't know whether that is entirely true.
I also have to say that my paintwork/fit and finish is excellent and I have( In two weeks of ownership) not one chip on the paintfinish.
In the next couple of weeks I plan to tint the windows which should make the car stand out a tad more.:)

lol yeah I would have opted for a new AP2 S2k if the price was marginally closer to a new CTR.. in the end I decided it just wasn't worth the $30k extra for an S2k..so ended up buying the CTR :D
