im just wondering if anyone has ever run down the 1/4 with a fully stock like literally bone stock EK4 vtir (or with verii minor mods like clutch n flywheel, intake) not stripped watsoever (spare tyre or none) ... and if so what times did you get etc ? on street tyres or on semis.

cos i see alot of 1/4mile times but they have modded or stripped, closest i have found was zco's run of 14.7 but that was freako style and stripped of seats :p

also same go with the eg vti

thanks guys

yep a stock ek4 with no weight reduction with factory tyres would expect to see 15's. Low to high just depends on driver.

eg vti has 96kw as opposed to the 118kw of the EK4 - same weight so the 1/4 will be abit longer...ive seen about low 16/high 15 off a vti

so there isnt such a great difference between the two .. i mean without fully stripping n all .. datz quite surprising, with the illusion vtec gives u in the ek4, "feels" alot faster i think.

remember the EG vti is SOHC and lacking in grunt compared to the EK4 B16a2. There isnt such a great difference down the 1/4 but in real life in any other situation the B16a is a superior engine

a sec down the quarter mile is quite abit. Just rem that they Type R is only 1 sec in front of the ek4, and a stock WRX is only 1 sec in front of the Type R.

Just for comparisons

1sec means alot more when you're down the low end of the time slips..

11-12second car = 10car lengths
16-17second car = about 4 ?

Full on....
 I always imagined the EK4 to be a good 70-100kg heavier.

are u sure that EK4 and EG5's weigh the same? isnt there like roughly around a 50-100kg difference? im pretty sure there is, from memory the eg's weigh around 1050kg give or take some kgs.

The early eg5s had 96kw and 144nm in vti spec. They weighed 990kg.
Quarter mile was 16.3-16.4 at about 140kmh.
EK vtir 118kw and around 1100kg and ran about 15.8 on a good day low 16s on a bad day at mid 140kmhs.
This is motor/wheels magazine testing done with their correvit style timers. Apparently at the drags you will always get slightly better due to the timer starting when you cross the timing beam (which is only 10cm maybe but it lets you get some small fraction of wheelspin out of the way) whereas accelerometer is as soon as car moves. This is the explanation i have seen for the discrepancy between normal drivers at drags and the people at motor etc.
People always write in and say the drivers at wheels/motor are crap but in fact the circumstances of testing are just different. Also most tests are done with half tank of fuel and they used to be done with 2 people (im not sure if they still do). So you may see a couple of tenths better than those times but it will be pretty close.
