hey guys i have a problem with my itr cluster i just bought...
my car is a dc2 vtir and i changed my cluster to the type r one, the problem is that when i installed the new cluster the fuel guage on it goes crazy.
When i mean crazy, it goes up and down and i have no idea why it is happening.
When i start the car it goes to empty, when the car moves it goes to fuel.
Is it a compatability Issue between 98 spec clusters to the 94 93 vtir?

Does anyone have this kind of problem when swapping from a vtir cluster to a itr cluster?

note: it works fine when i put my old cluster in fuel guage works fine

need all the help i can get to solve this stupid problem -.-

There is a small wiring compatibility between the 2 clusters, cant remember what it was though.

Take a good clear picture of the rear of both clusters & post it up,it will just be a matter of switching a couple of wires around, not hard.

yeah man, the fuel needle went all the way to the bottom, did not want to mess with the wiring atm, so i just took apart both cluster and swap all the gauges ....took 20mins

sounds like your best choice is to switch parts with your old one as sydteg said... luckily it didn happen to me when i switched but i found it weird how the itr one has less wires.
