Anyone know how to remove the tin plate on the back of the brakes...supposed to be some guard for something. Dunno what as not other car I have had had this. Besides would help cooling with them off.

on the front brakes as well? i do not think there will be one on the fron brakes..

But it is there for a reason, i personally won't touch any safety equipments on the car except you have well knowledge about what you doing...

i think u can break the tab that holding it on.
dont remember exactly on the hondas but on my previous car toyota.
i swapped the standard breaks for a larger combo. hence that dust metal thing had to go.
correct me if im wrong but it serves no real purpose besides shielding dust.
i just broke the tabs that were holding it together.

it's for anti-squeak.. generally don't need them as good pads have good backing plates

you have to remove the hub from the wheel bearing to get them off. then there is a few bolts holding them on.

Nah, it's to keep brake dust from coating your suspension.

He's not talking about the pad shim things.... he's talking about the stone guards behind the rotors.

Leave them on.... removal of these will not give you any significant decrease in brake temps.
