View Full Version : Used ITR Rear LCA's
Hi,
Is there any possible issues buying used ITR Rear LCA's?
I mean, they are just a solid piece of metal. As long as there's no visible cracks I should be fine? Or should I stay away? I assume it's like buying a used hammer? (bit dirty, but it'll still do the job)
Also - any issues with painting it? Is there a howto anywhere to paint it properly? Strip it back? High Temp Paint maybe?
Thanks!

line them up next to each other and make sure they are straight / the same
Then look at the 4 x bushes ( one either end of each LCA) and make sure they arent cracked or overly worn

many companies make replacement bushes for a variety of parts. ITR LCA's are one of them. IMO if worn just replace with OEM bushes new.

So it's worth picking up new OEM bushings for them, while I have them in my hand? (ie. before fitting)

Yes. bushings from honda are around $20-30 each tho. X 4 and then add another $XX labour.
But saves you doing it later down the track

They are a pain to take out. You need a 1 ton press or you can use a blow torch to burn them out.
For the cost of the OEM ones i'd get the polyurethane bushes, the are stronger, but i know some people don't like them as they are harder
