hey guys I got an EK1 civic and I wanted to dye or perhaps replace my carpet but with black. do you guys have any experience, i know dying isn't a good idea if you're changing colours but good if you are changing tone. I want mind to go from the current grey to like pitch black.

Alternatively I can buy EK4 carpet (after a search, it's prob too hard to find this shit) or I can coat the current carpet in new carpet and fix it on somehow

any ideas?

Would suggest getting new carpet, remember good old after market will the a little be thicker pile. And when you get it, it may well come with no holes for hand brake and shifter so it’s a good idea to use your old carpet as a template to lie over to make cuts.

New carpet always looks the goods when you have done a good job so take your time and make sure you have a nice shark knife and remember make it a nice tight, snug fit because over time it will start to stretch from just getting in and out.

Good luck if you want more info PM me.

Just go into autobahn, they have ek1 black carpet, 2 mats and 2 mini mats + connector(for the back) that are black with red stiched honda logo and "honda" on them for about $150

even if u dye it, it'll come off over time and u'll have black dye all over your shoe soles (onto home carpet = no good), etc.
