See pic. This engine comes in factory form in my Vti ek hatch. Can I use the internal components as the D16Y8? Thanks

Wiki says that it's the same as the d16y8 and that the d16y6 engine code is for NZ.

Thanks EK96. Your info has been very helpful.

I am planning to purchase the below item from ebay to go with the turbokit. Do you think these gasket, piston and conrods will fit?

The EJ8 was the Vti & there were sedans, but a hatch. Interesting?

I would say so it says it fits the y8. What turbo kit did you get for it ?

Yep. This is a hatch. May be a personal import in the past.

Still waiting for it to arrive. I think it is a turbokit with XS turbo and all the bits.

Probably ending up swapping and changing some compoents. I have read enough negative stuff about this kits. Still i cannot resist it :p

It should be quick, its what i would do if i had the $, instead of swapping to a b-series. Im gunna keep my y4/y8 NA.

I am trying to do this with a budget as i have other investment commitments.

Therefore I shall focus solely on bang-for-the-buck and don't get side-tracked with all the available nice looking bodymods and JDM stuff. ( that's what they all say heh).

What do you think a realise budget for this project should be? My objective is to complete this with the same amount as a B engine swap but get more power.

But be careful with the xs there was a post not long ago when i was going to get this kit i think. Some images of the XS turbo split in half was glued together or something. But Kerim has a xs kit and running fine i think. Keep an eye on it.

Funny you mentioned that. I just purchase the kit from him and waiting for delivery.

I do have a few Nissan turbos from the R32,Z32 as backup....

This is the most expensive one...the Greddy kit and it is still reasonable price.
Not sure about the shipping.

Obviously mine will be cheaper ....
