88 Prelude 4WS - Clunking like engine slamming down? HELP - Desperate!!!!

Hi Guys,

I want to sell my car but to cut a long story short when i touch the accelerator while rolling along the engine clunks and the car jerks ITS HORRIBLE!!!! I have replaced both front and rear engine mounts and its still doing it. Also when i drive at a slow speed in a strait line or turn right (not left) its clicks like a CV but its not (had them done). about 12 months ago it was doing sorta the same thing and it shite a diff so i put a new one (whole gearbox) in and its doing it again. I have tried everything and am desperate to fix it and sell it (brought a Nissan 180sx - sorry guys :p). Just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Oh yeah its got 340,000 kms on it :D and i brought it slightly damaged in the front and fixed it

If its not the mounts or the transmission and the engine itself is running OK then maybe look at the clutch or flywheel??? Have you checked the side engine mounts? It could also be a cracked sub frame.

Id suggest strip the car for parts and sell it off rather than trying to fix it. You may just get more for the car anyway.

Yeah i dunno could be subframe actually, ill get it up on the hoist and check it out. So your car doesnt do this then? And no way not stripping it for parts, not worth it the amount of work i have put into it! Ill find it and fix it.
So noone else had had this issue??
