10" Alpine sub - $250
Alpine Amp big enough to power it - $300-$400
Fake Floor install: $300
So about $1K.
Or do it yourself, and buy electronics 2nd hand and 1/2 that estimated. price

In my S2K: Ive got 2x12" Alpine subs going in the boot (the box just fits) and two 6.5" splits in the front.
Will be running either two amps or perhaps running splits off head unit and one big amp for subs.

got a Alpine 8" Type-S sub in the boot running off a sony 2ch amp
I get really good sound without distortion and heavy beats even with the roof down, driving on the highway

maybe you wont believe me John, that set-up cost me around $4000 no labour and cabling cost since I did it myself, coz I was using the Alpine F1 status headunit with the 4ch Phoenix Gold Ti series and a/d/s splits with 10W3 JL Audio, sound was very nice I can feel the Bass coming from my front splits instead of the back

Does anyone know if the stock head unit is capable of running amps?
What do they call it? RCA outs?
I want to keep my stock head unit but run the two subs off a big amp

you can get a converter from line out to rca.. there's no rca cables on the stock head unit..

Cool thanks mate.
So I guess that means the subs would be run of the rear channel!?!?

yepyou need a speaker wire to RCA converter.
trust me its not worth it as the sound quality isnt as good as any starthfield car radios 200w head unit.
if you decide to go aftermarket it will sound soo much better believe me.

I might just hook up the splits to the stock head unit with no amp for starters, just to see how it sounds.lol
Then I'll save up for a decend head unit and amp them up.
