mmm, picked up my civic on Friday and noticed this on the roof today while waxing the the car.. Only noticed it really due to waxing and so I was carefully looking over the surface as I was polishing..

Rippled part looks lower than the rest of the paint work, like it was badly scratched and touched up? or is this just from a painting fault? The chip is in the same area and is down to bare metal by the looks of it..

'Damage' covers about a 20cm by 5cm area.. hard to photograph as light has to be catching it just right. Chip is around 3mm x 4mm. I think the bubble became a chip when I was polishing as I rubbed the bubble off, was very weak paint obviously.

So what can I do? just demand the roof is repainted? bit of a pain to have to give the car back after 3 days..

I thought it was too good to be true when they called me to say my car arrived two weeks early LOL

that just not right, you should ask for a repaint

that is bad. I would be taking that straight back to the dealer.

wtf?? looks like the car had a problem and got rejected and the dealer just gave it to u and that explains the 2 weeks earlier arrival..

send it back and ask for a replacement.. even after respray u dont feel like it's a brand new car anymore

Cars don't get rejected. Even those that get into accidents when unloading just get fixed and sold as new cars.

Well they seemed surprise, a few of them came out to look, as they said they thought that was very strange from Honda..

They said I could leave it there or just wait for the 1000km service/inspection and they would get it fixed then, and give me a free loan car while the car was away getting the roof resprayed..

yep..

And at least they offered a free loan car, seems obvious but definate points to the dealer for that. Mazda didn't on my warranty claim from them (though that was after 2 years). My mates Holden Astra was right away though like the civic, and they still wanted $35 a day for the loan car..
