I am deciding to upgrade my brake for my EK4, properly will do the front 1st, had done a bit of searching, didn't find an answer for my question yet.

I am not going to do a 5 stud conversion coz i dont wanna spend for 5 stud rims...so i will only change the caliper and disc
Can i actually just change a set of aftermarket caliper(Project Mu/Spoon/Brembo/AP), do i have to change for a bigger disc or even the rotor also?

hey
im upgrading my ek4 brakes aswell :)

I've been pming alotta traders about whats best to suit you.

Most of the time a good machine of stock rotors + better brake pads do a lot of difference.

have you tried searching for general brake upgrades? i searched that and i found some pretty good stuff

There is no real need to go to a heavy duty brake kit unless you plan to see some track time. Look into integra brakes as they are a good step up.

Remember the DC vtir and Gsi share the same sized brakes as the EK4. Front and rear.
You would look at the ITR or EK9 for a logical upgrade , but not worth the $$$ since a set of very nice pads should perform quite well

This is the order in which i would upgrade my brakes:

ITR booster and MC
Slotted 282mm prelude 4x114.3 rotors and redrill them to 4x100
ITR calipers
Racing/high performance pads

You for got to mention Ek GLI, they are also the same size as well(front). Only thing different with EK4 and teg vtir is they have abs. 100% same.

nah gli has the exact same set up as the vtir, I put my gli's brake side by side to my gf's em1, and they look identical...

But cxi has the smaller 240mm set up, I haven't put one side by side but visually it's much smaller.

*CONFIRM* 99 + gli hatch has the 262mm fronts too. earlier had the 240
But all sedans have the 262mm fronts.

Sorry Ben my gli is a 97 spec model, and when I got the car it was completely stardard with ripped up hub caps. Unless I have been terribly lucky that the factory fitted the wrong brakes on my car.
