has anyone bought a scan tool from ebay or similar here? some range from $35-$300, and i figure it maybe handy now and in the future...
my question is... which scan tool is suitable for the EK civic as most of them have different codes and only say suitable for most asia vehicles
only reason i want one is because on very hot days the engine light will come on but go away once the ignition is off.
i tried doing the paper clip test but no codes showed up. like they were cleared once the ignition was turned off.
after reading on a few obd scan tools, i read that some can actually work connected to a laptop in real time... so i'm hoping that would be able to show up what exactly is triggering the engine light to come on.
