Aim ;
Mounting An Amp

Required ;
Sheet of board @ 1200x450x7mm
Jig-saw - if not ask bunnings to cut it @ the size should be free.
6 screws @ 24mm height
Screw driver

Reason ;
The reason for doing this is to help not leave any marks on the seats or any drilled holes

Method ;

1-
Have the Measurements of the Amp ready, Add 15mm to each side extra.
Eg- 350x270mm Add 15mm = 365x285mm

2-
Travel to Bunnings and purchase a sheet of board for about approximately $7 & ask them to cut the measurements that you already have or do it at home with a jigsaw ( should be free since its only two Cuts)

3-

4-
Open up them little caps which is holding down the material covered behind the rear seats

5-
Place the sheet of board that you’ve Cut underneath the material to where you desire it to be stabled as (left/right) you’re choice.

6-
Lock them little caps back to position as the sheet of board is covered

7-
Get 2 screws and the screw driver & screw it down anywhere in the middle about 100mm’s appart throught the material + sheet of board to keep hold of the strength

8-
Put the Amp on top and centre it to your own likings

9-
Now mount the Amp with the 4 screws to the hole’s given on the Amp

10-
Once that’s done Lift the Rear seats back up and Lock it in.. FINISHED

wouldn't it tug at the carpet eventually pulling it off from the weight?

same as what i did, expect 2 alpines, works a charm, the wood thing doesn't seem safe as the wood can slide and the only thing holding them is the clip really.

my amps are lined up to the metal and drilled in. holds perfect!

if u screw the amp down squar ( into the metal back) it shouldnt rly pull on the carpet. As for the weight of the amp fulling it down over time...maybe, i only have 4 screws holding it up and i think its fine. :)

Learn to read. I was referring to the block of wood technique pulling on the carpet.

I did this on my first Civic 2 years ago and it pulled the clips off the carpet due to the weight of the amp..

Drilling into metal bracket would be better I'm guessing!

4 bolts for each corner of the amp is too much effort? Why even bother going to the drags then? If you're running a sound system/leaving the amp in to begin with it begs the question as to why you're bothering to lose then 5-10kgs for the seats. If I was going to leave the amp in, I wouldn't bother with any of the other weight removal. Sort of like taking 2 steps forward, 1 Step back. I know you're probably just going for fun, but if losing the weight to get 0.1 faster isn't worth ditching the sounds for a night, why bother? There are people out there who will spend A LOT more than 5 minutes trying to get their car running 0.1secs faster..
