Hi,

I've just recently changed my clutch. Mines a exedy heavy duty clutch and I find it quite good.

It bites/grabs a lot better than OEM, but then again the stock clutch lasted me 90,00kms.

Though I must say I've had to change my driving style. I've got to learn to rev match better when downshifting otherwise I get chatter.

Oh its makes a little of spinning whinning noise around 3000 revs but apparently that goes away after 1000kms.

Yeah man, i think a button clutch is a bit overkill for a std type r!!

I would just get a decent heavy duty cluctch, i went a X-streem organic heavy duty and haven't looked back.

Get the ORC from Edward Max-hondapower trader. Its great for a Type R.

It does shudder a bit though on take off.

Yes, turbocharging is always a good idea.

As for power, anywhere from an extra 30 odd kilowatts, to the sky!!
Really depends on what setup you run!

If you are looking to turbo in the near future, you may want to look at the button clutch, as a standard HD may not cut it.

But iof this is the case, i would be looking at brakes, suspension and some killer tyres too!!

i also got the ogura clutch in my dc5, highly recommend it. it bites hard, but it does make a railing sound.
however u can get a 'silent' type.

i recommend u to change to a lighter flywheel while your at it.

also, with this clutch there is little to no slippage point when downshifting - so its important that you rev match or heel toe otherwise you will experience a sudden jump/bounce because it will engage almost instantly unlike OEM ;)

just my 2cents

Yes exactly as you say ^^^

The Silent one "is not" silent however.

I did have the Silent one in my DC2R, but it still chatters when you put the peddle down (disengage). The ogura clutches have the extra plate in there. The silent one has springs which 'supposed to' push the plate away on disengement to make it silent, but as I said you can still hear chatter quite clearly.

I definitely back the Xtreme Organic Heavy Duty on a close to stock car, stiffer pedal feel but engages smoothly like stock. I put a Ceramic centre-sprung clutch on my car and regret it due to the shudder while slipping.

is the extreme organic better than the extreme cushion HD clutch?

Have a look at their website, they have lots of info

http://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/products.htm#

go to Knowledge Base, then Clutch Disc desription. I have the DCB, wish I bought the DCSB.
