to your questions. they're pretty much the same seats, EK4 and EK1 will hav different material trim (to all areas u mentioned). EK4 rear seats will have headrest whereas EK1's dont. the headrest of the front seats are different too, and EK4 front seats might b slightly more bucket? (<- somone can confirm this). i've been in both, can cant quite tell the difference.

here's a quickie on pics. i'm sure if u look around u'd hav found some pics.

EK4

rear trim/door trim are black in ek4's.. and grey in ek1's

and what do you mean by vinyl colour? door trim colour ? dash colour ?

if so, as above, all black in ek4, grey in ek1

on that EK4 pic u posted the carpet doesn't look black?
and also u know the rear seats, the actual panels to the left where its a handrest, do they vary between EK1/EK4?

carpets / floormats are similar. (?)

all plastic panels in EK4 are black (or dark if u'd say it) and EK1's are grey.

seats are interchangable, panels are the same, different colour.

not sure if the carpets are a pitch black/darker, i surely did not notice the difference.

imo, its not worth changing EK1 carpets to EK4 carpets if u're looking at getting somthing darker, or different. go wth EK9 if u want red, if darker/black, there're aftermarket carpets available tat will work just as well, new & perhap cheaper too.

ah you've got to be kidding! ive been chasing EK4 carpet for ages now. i wanted pitch black carpet, like we're talking midnight black. EK4 is only like a shade darker?!

nah bro EK9 carpet wouldnt go. i got a dark green dark, green + red = xmasmobile. i want dark dark, hence my tinted tail lights, ek9 headlights, (gonna get black rims), etc etc.
and i dont want white interior cause im not driving a pimpmobile either

I guess you could dye it. a pack of black hair dye might do it. But i've never tried

also, lets not forget that the EK4 has a B series engine and EK1 has D series.

Anyway, carpet dye will make it black. or you can get a moulded carpet made for ahundred or two.

^ wat does B and D series engines has anything to do wth carpets Jase :p

anyway steve88 , i really dont think there's a noticable difference between the EK4 and EK1 carpets. if there really is, the difference/effect it has might not justify the time and money u spend on doing the change (tats from my personal point of view)

if u're looking for darker/ black carpets, try get one made locally, it would be a cheaper option too i presume.

a friend of mine had his car (EF) fully re-carpetted at a local automotive carpet retailer for ~$200+ and tats including the labour, pretty much drive in drive out package. consider that, and its all new carpets. unlike buying 2nd hand carpets and having the risk of it being torn, stains or even smells.
