you want 111kw ATW ~ alittle hard to stretch out of the 1.6
Get rid of you VAFC , x force header and replace those with something like a TODA header etc and a hondata s100 or s200. And tune it.

refer to this thread for some info of other b16's

A nice set of headers like buddyclub, toda, hytech.. CAI, exhaust and a tune should get something close to that.

for larger hp jumps - nitrous direct port wet kit. and you can get that fully installed for under $1000

nitrous is more for the adventurous.. i wan something conservative.. some1 jus tell mi if intake manifold, larger injectors, throttle body or other stuff to add on without changing my setup pls.. thanks.

Coming from a turbo background, larger injectors are only going to be useful if you're currently running very high injector cycles - say exceeding 90-95% IDC. I'm no honda expert (far from it), but i'd very much doubt the standard injects are running anywhere near capacity. Therefore it being a waste of time and money considering that path.

Hopefully someone can confirm or deny my comment.

you cant really do much for a thousand unless you diy

valve springs retainers
cam gears
intake manifold
etc

1 thing wont make much of a difference, you need a good combination of all the parts

injectors arent going to help you at this low stage of modification

I don't think you'll see much gains with just an intake manifold and throttle body, maybe spend a little but not much with the stock cams. try save a little more and get some CTR cams, and then pair that with an ITR or aftermarket intake manifold and throttle body combo.

And dont forget to get it tuned, as the others have said, ditch the vafc and get a basic hondata setup. I think this is your local supplier

And plan to swap out those headers at some stage for something better like Toda, they'll definately hold you back

Hope it helps

Save ur self the 1000 and go to myaree dyno ull get 150Disneywatts as is...

You asked for ppls opinion they gave it to you.... (ie loose the crap header) and you said that u dont want to....

You want the power but dont wanna spend the $$

If ur only after a 150kw dyno print out should be fairly easy to get..
Just find a high reading dyno....

honda's get most of their power from the headers.

Get a high profile header and you'll see good gains across the entire rev range, not just in peak power.

TB IM and injectors will only loose you power unless you upgrade cams, valve springs and retainers.

Start with the header before you do the head/intake.

Friend of mine made 108 with toda headers, RM01a cat back, and injent intake. if you choose the right parts you'll be able to get where you want.

i'd change the cat, its the most restrictive part of your exhaust, a steel cat will give a a few more kws. But as above 111kw atw in a NA 1.6 is hard. You need to pump more money in to get that type of power.
A full ECU will help, but without head work i doubt you will be able to reach your target.

He only wants to spend 1000bucks to get 150whp(legit).
in a B16a he will need at least 3 times that much for NA
He has to change a few things in his current setup to

I read it a different way, that he's aiming for 150whp as a goal, but his next item he has a grand to spend... not that it matters :P

Hi comp pistons will help quite a bit, no need for forged yet, along with your cams and better header and exhaust 2-2.5", do you also have upgraded valvetrain? ecu upgrade like hondata s200 or similar, intake and tb, and those are the ingredients but sorry, it will cost more that $1000. for now go for hi comp pistons.
hope it helps

wow good advice, you just contradicted yourself LOL

its a good point tho. IF he wants it to actually be faster , then get the 4.7 or 4.9 FD.
But this person just wants the 150HP on a piece of paper and thats it.
The car wont be much faster at all , only a very peaky 150hp @ the wheels.

Hey dude $1000.. what a tight as :p
i think your better off saving the $1000 in a term deposit and send ur car to TODA if u want real power..since u cant DIY..

but all i can say is.. you get what you pay for...

bennjamin
20-10-2007, 09:27 PM
$1k in a term deposit will make about $70 over 12 months. worth it ?

Anyway why would you send your car to TODA if you want real power ? with the current mods he has he will hardly get anything.

wow.. so mani comments already.. ok to those ppl who are laughing at me, you were once like tat... dun deny..lol..

i tink.. i will reduce my target to 130hp atw with my current setup k... i kept reading the wrong forums.. e.g. the once in US.. all their dyno have high readings.. so tats wat those guys told mi.. sry though.. i am also newbie..

so of all the comments.. i tink TODA headers is the no.1 choice yeah?.. so with all the shit i have... put in some toda headers throw the xforce onces aside, get a high flow cat.. den tune it.. should hit 130whp?? thanks..

VT1-R
20-10-2007, 10:47 PM
and for the term deposit part.. come on.. if u wanna be a smartie pants.. go to the smartie forums..not ozhonda ... i am jus asking stating my target, though too high.. but i am jus asking a legitimate question in this forum looking for some gd answers.. so #$%#$%..

Dude you have already spent a bit on your headers and other mods...
Instead of doubling up keep them and get a ITR inlet manifold or a copie...
And ITR cams and a VAFC theres 1k and you will see an improvement..
MAybe not 130whp but as close as youll get to it for 1k and im sure you will be happy with it..

You havent even told us what power you have atm and what dyno..
If u want a more conservative power read out go to ovaboost in malaga...
If u want a higher print out go to myaree dyno...( thats if your in WA)
If u wanna know how fast your car is then go to the track and have a few runs then tell us you results and ppl can give you advice on what to add or change in your setup to achieve your desired results...

haha.. thanks locote.. nv been to track or dyno.. vafc not installed yet.. i getting POWER FC maybe.. i still keeping myself open.. i already got CTR cams.. no nid ITR.. so i use CTR cams n POWER FC+ tune should be fine with my existing set up hey?.. ok.. at least to feel an improvement yeah.. haha..

locote

Should get a decent gain actualy....
Powerfc on my with out tuning made a difference.. went from a 14.7 to a 14.2
from 93mph to 95mph..
with cams and tune you will be up to B18c territory....

VT1-R
21-10-2007, 01:04 AM
wooo... tats encouraging.. u mean power FC with tuning.. u went frm 14.7 to 14.2 yeah?.. so with my setup(with cams) +power FC+tune is almost b18c.. tats cool man.. haha thanks for the advise..

VT1-R
21-10-2007, 02:36 AM
haha.. erm.. if u mean power FC without tune.. means u jus chuck in POWER FC den instant gain?.. confused..lol..

MrKaji
22-10-2007, 08:33 PM
go ING for your term deposit its 7% compounded monthly :)

neways i reckon your only hold back is a good ECU tune...
since uve basically done the inatke / headers / exhuast.. well i think u have :)
PROECU do an excellent job but i guess ur not in adelaide :(
so i guess the Power FC is an option

try aiming for 100ish KW at the wheels :)

VT1-R
22-10-2007, 09:17 PM
haha will do.. will post dyno results once its done..

Any reason your want to use power fc over the more affordable hondata?

VT1-R
23-10-2007, 09:02 PM
i getting it for $500 2nd hand with commander.. and i heard theres no shop in perth tat can do Hondata..

I think sum1 already has mentioned this but its the right combination of parts that can maybe get u close to 150HP.
