quick question guys, I got new 18" rims, and i went with;

falken 245/40/18 at the front, and 235/40/18 in the rear.

It's the first time i ever bought rims, but is this kind of set up the way to go?

any comments welcome. thanks.

i think u've thrown the diameter out abit...meaning u've made the wheel bigger then stock....meaning ur speedo is gonna be showing that ur going slower then u really are... meaning carefull with cameras.. am i making sense... lol... 245 is quite big... mines only 225/40/r18 all 4's....thats some fat wheels u got there.... hey at least its more protection for the rims :D........

Use the same tyre width and rolling diameter for both front AND rear tyres. Using staggered sizes for FWD cars is not legal.

Did you ask for that size or is that what the shop told you to fit, cause those sizes are really not suitable and illegal.

Whats the width of the rim?

I was wondering why it's not suitable?
I thought i would just get better grip?

It's illegal. If cops see it, they will defect you.

hmm you have also changed the circumference of the wheel. The front wheels will do less revolutions than the back. The VSA could be confused by that, not sure. Front of car will sit higher than rear.... All these things impacted by a silly tyre decision.

How come the front tyres are wider than the rear tyres?

totally WRONG
even it is from a S14
the 245 should be at the rear
but you got yr dirt cheap rims off a wrong car.

Not really. 245 in the rear and 235 in the front just gives a tendency for the car to understeer. He's got it the right way around. Just that it is not legal in an FWD car here in Australia.

Sell the tyres you got on now and buy new ones.

What is the offset of the Rims?

If they stick out passed the wheel guards, you can get defected.
