hey guys,
bit of a noob question here? i did a search and found out that it is recommended to use honda p/s fluid, i went to autobarn before and looked for some fluid and looked in the castrol book and it recommended "castrol fork oil ISO VG 15" which is a highly stabalised suspension oil, it says it incorporates anti foaming and seal swelling additives and it says it prolongs seal life by resisting premature hardening and glazing. has anyone used or heard of this before, and would it be ok to use to top up my p/s in my em1? sorry bout the long post,
thanks,
stephen

If your topping up,u prob already got honda fluid in there.

Best not to mix fluids & the honda stuff is best anyway, just go to honda spares & buy some.

Go honda fluid. With honda PS fluid, you know that it is compatible with the seals. The Castrol one says that it has seal swelling additives. With each manufacturer, they may use different seal materials, so the effect is different on each. Also the fact that it has seal swelling additives means the base stock tends to swell seals? Also, it's fork oil. Why use fork oil for your PS when you have perfectly good Honda PS fluid available?
