HI guys.. im having trouble finding the dipstick for the transmisson oil.. can anyone help me out with this .. im not much of a mechanic type person so dont really know where things are located...
DC2r transmission (gearbox) has no dipstick.
Only cars with auto transmission have dipsticks.

There is a filler bolt. You check the level through there. It's in a sealed case, so you won't use up transmission fluid unless you have a leak. BTW, if it is time to change, put in the new Honda MTF 06.

change every 40000km,
the filler bolt is located on the RHS of the gearbox near the drive shaft. with a 17mm nut head. with the car level and the filler bolt removed fill the gearbox with mtf untill it start to pour out of the filler hole. again car must be level.

Honda MTF is best. Unless you want to go for Redline lightweight (which is still 1 step more viscous than Honda MTF)

you simply fill it from the VSS hole until MTF seeps put the "fill" hole. This is exactly the level you need :)
Refer to this for an EASY DIY , make a gearbox filler and fill your fluid at the same time :)

Yeah fill it up till it drains out of the fill bolt. simple.
Try Castrol Syntrax Oil, IMO better then OEM. Fixed up crunching 3rd gear at high rpm.

The new Honda MTF 06 is much smoother than the old Honda MTF Plus.

Try filling it up, im sure it takes more than 2.2 LTR
if you flush it out correctly

Hi guys.. yea anyone know if the problem i have with the gearbox is due to low transmission oil... because atm there are problems when i down shift from gears 3 to 2 and also the Reverse... when i put it into reverse and let the car roll back..if i clutch it down it will suddenly stop with a bump..
lately i have notice that if i thrash the car for a while or if i do about 1 hour normal driving.. the downshift and the reversing problem suddenly goes away... well i think it might be the transmission oil that is low.. thats why its not letting me do the shifts when the car is still cool...
Again...When down shifting from 3 to 2.. there is no crunching or grinding sounds.. it just wouldnt go in... (like there is something blocking the shift... )
also my clutch is almost gone.... (might be the cause too...)
any suggestions on what the cause might be... ??

Your transmission fluid doesn't go low. It just goes old and dirty. Change it first.
As for your 3 to 2 problems, if changing the transmission fluid doesn't help, then your synchros are probably worn.
And no, a worn clutch won't give you problems shifting.

Synchros are expensive to replace arent they? D:

You pay more for the labour cost to remove the tranny and open it up. If you have to get it changed, you might as well get your clutch plate life checked (and replaced if necessary), throwout and spigot bearings changed at the same time. Heck change your final drive and put in an LSD as well since the box is already opened.

only reason your transmission can go low is if you have a leak in your gearbox or leak at the seals where the drive shafts are inserted! excuse my improper use of english
