600/1000cc bike ?

i know im on my Ls and yes i do know its illegal to ride a big bike. but prices for a 250 is wayyy over the top and half the bikes are so effed up it isnt funny. for a 250 tis either 6k up for a good one or 4k for a beat up one. i was thinking of forking out some more ( not much more ) for a 600rr

could anyone shed me some light on the differences in terms of riding , handling, comfort, power (how revvy it is).

for me people ask me why i drive a honda instead of a turbod car. its because i like hondas. same case as this; some people ask why would you wana break the law and i tell them would u pay 15k for a vtir or a 18k for a type r

i in the same situation, im going to sit on my L's until i get my fulls in a year, then buy a 600 or something thats a bit better than a beat up 250...

maybe in the mean time ill buy a trashed old traily so i can keep practising my skils but other than that im not gonna bother... im setting the R up for the track.

Also, your thought patter surroudning the vti-r and Type R are stupid mate... your not breaking the law, and or risking your life by buying a Type R over a vtir. a 600 or bigger bike will probably bee more stable but with that comes a shedload more power which (im assuming your a novice like myself) can be very tempting and EXTREMELY dangerous

first of all i'll say it's not worth getting busted by the cops, i know in melb they've cracked down on L and P platers riding large bikes so i guess it would be same in syd or elsewhere.

as for comfort the best thing is to go sit on the bikes and see what is best for you, as everyone is a different size

as for actual drivability the 600's are smaller so they are alot more chuckable around corners, generally 1000's being bulkier are a lil slower around corners but rape 600's on the straight.

realistically you can't legally use the power difference between the two, the main difference will be on the track down the straight.

the current cbr600rr's are VERY nice :D

I had a 600 on my L's and P's and i was pulled over maybe 10 time and never once did they question the bike, i borrower my mate 250 for the riding tests and im glad i didnt waste 5K on a 15 year old cbr250, when for 2k more i got a like new R6

u must be really lucky because they look up your license which says learner, then cross reference with the number plate on the bike which shows the VIN which should have LAM before it designating it as a learner approved motorcycle.

u realise how fast a cbr 250 is? its like a friggin s2k on a bike.....

point is theyr fast already, a 600 is shit load more powerful and faster

stats arent good for learners on 250s, i cant imagine som1 learning on a 600, thats quite a deathwish imo, lol

learn. then get a 600 ..
a good 250 rider will own a 600+ ride on twisties.
anyways. yes 250s are a rip. but when ur off ur 1 n half years. u can sell it for teh same $.

yeh i think ill end up in a 250 just purely because i dont want get myself killed just yet lol. ive driven a turbo and a na, power difference is massive, but in a car its really hard to have an accident whereas on a bike its all about balance
