power isnt the only thing that can make a car faster. there's also weight, shape of power and torque band, gear ratios, suspension, etc. right now, it seems the civic type r is faster (well, jap spec r anyway)

FN2R - 148kw, 1345kg
DC5S - 154kw, 1230kg

i think i've read people on here having taken their DC5S to the strip and pulled times in the high 6's...

i also agree with SeverAMV, there's more to it than just power and weight, even though they're the major factors.

civic - 148kw, 1345kg
integra - 154kw, 1230kg.

EP3 CTR - 158kw, < 1200kg

When will you guys ever learn that a fast car isnt dependant on its power output...its a complete package?
*sigh

ps. To the thread starter, wat kind of CTR are you referring to?

as he said, i saw on honda tech somewhere where to determine how fast u go is 70% skill and 30% car

'Which is fastest' is a silly question. Depends what kind of competition you're talking about, who's driving etc.

I can give you some stats, but they don't mean as much as you might think they do.
Australian Domestic Market
AUDM DC2 VTiR - 125 kw 173 Nm 1150 kg - 108.7 kw/t, 150.4 nm/t
AUDM DC2 Type R - 141 kw 172 Nm 1070 kg - 131.8 kw/t, 160.7 nm/t
AUDM DC5 Type S - 154 kw 194 Nm 1230 kg - 125.2 kw/t, 157.7 nm/t
AUDM DC5 Type R - 147 kw 192 Nm 1180 kg* - 124.6 kw/t, 162.7 nm/t
AUDM FN2 Type R - 148 kw 193 Nm 1345 kg - 110.0 kw/t, 143.5 nm/t
Japanese Domestic Market
DC2 Type R - 147 kw 181 Nm 1050 kg - 140.0 kw/t, 172.4 nm/t
DC5 Type R - 161 kw 206 Nm 1180 kg - 136.4 kw/t, 174.6 nm/t
EG6 SiR - 125 kw 156 Nm 1040 kg - 120.2 kw/t, 150.0 nm/t
EK9 Type R - 136 kw 159 Nm 1070 kg - 127.1 kw/t, 148.6 nm/t
EP3 Type R - 158 kw 202 Nm 1190 kg - 132.8 kw/t, 169.7 nm/t

* = Indicated weight is including Air Conditioning equipment.
Power/Torque to weight is in Bold.
Winners are in Italics.

The stats above are gathered from various places around the net. I couldn't find the ADM DC5R stats, or the torque for the AUDM DC5 Type S, so I just guessed based on the JDM DC5 Integra IS.

Faster than the standard Cayenne, not faster than the Cayenne S. Besides it's like a cripple battle. Even if the suspension could handle a decent high power launch, if you had to do anything but drive straight they'd fall over.

Toyota Tarago, 202kw 340nm, 1870kg - 108kw/ton, 181nm/ton
Cayenne, 213kw 384nm, 2245kg - 94.9kw/ton, 171nm/ton
Cayenne S, 283kw 500nm, 2320kg - 122kw/ton, 215nm/ton

Still, I guess the Tarago has the same power to weight than my car, and more torque/weight.

On top of all that, are you seriously comparing a Toyota to a Porsche??

I like my Toyota's but its not in the same breath as a Porsche.

If you are comparing power to weight on paper, then yes. But is it actually faster?? as in 0-100km and 400m??

You'll notice above I've said "On paper mean's less than you may imagine", so yeah I was talking about on paper, and I totally understand that it may or may not have much relevance to the real world. But as mentioned, a Cayenne was beaten by a Tarago in a test by Drive. Ha ha ha!

But it's only a Cayenne. It's not like it's a real Porsche, like a Cayman, boxter, or 911 or something. Personally I love that a Porsche was kicked by a Tarago! I really don't like this trend of 4WDs being 'cool', and Porsche making a 4WD is just WRONG as far as I'm concerned. So a people mover kicking it's arse makes me smile! :D

Type R doesn't mean straight line speed. It's a track car. Do you understand?
