View Full Version : Apexi POWER FC for b18c1
Hey guys, just wondering if a power fc is worth getting over a AFC neo? I've got full exhaust system n intake, near future getting cams n cam gears. Planning to get my car dyno'd in the next few weeks, hoping to get everything put on before the dyno run.
Cheers Guys

PowerFC is a standalone. AFC Neo is a piggyback. If I were doing cams, I would spend the extra money for the PowerFC.

All depends on what you want to do.
Neo is only a piggyback ECU. Does not have all the features & as many tunable points as PFC. Its got limited tuning funtions, that's why it is so much cheaper.
PFC is a full ecu allowing you to control all aspects of your setting.

AFC NEO only alters A/F ratio and vtec point. Without cams, then NEO is ok. With cams, I would prefer to have ignition timing control and a raised revlimit if I build my block or want that extra 500rpm to extract power with lumpy cams as well, hence go for PowerFC.

When I put my foot down in my car (Automatic),it goes like this:counting 1 sec,2 sec,3sec. 1 sec=laggg,2sec=lag,3sec=GOOOOO.
Will dyno tuning with the AFC NEO help to clear this up i.e.give the car better response/pick up?
This is the thing about my car that I want to fix.
Also will the stock ECU being that it's OBD2 de-tune all the settings done on the Dyno with the AFC NEO? Because I have read of this happening to this ECU...

No, the first 2 seconds are probably for your auto to downshift.

I dont think PowerFc will work with an auto car...
As ITR never came with auto..

Yes it is.

Then maybe. But I was under the impression that fuel trim adjustment was only done in closed-loop when using partial throttle and not during open-loop full throttle.

 I'll have to check this out more cause if it does it will be a waste of money.
