Hey Guys,
For the past few weeks, i've been pondering about committing to a brand new Euro. I was wondering if it's worthwhile to purchase one now or should i wait for the 2008 model?

Is anyone aware of any news/updates, or if there's any major changes to the 2008 model? I saw a couple of prototype renders of the 2008 sedan (bares a slight resemblance to the Mazda 3). But i doubt it will come in production. All cars are inevitably becoming more and more egg-shaped, like a beetle or 350Z.

I may just wait for the new Euro to come if you going to buy a brand new car. If you want a car now, get a bargain second hand Euro.

If you want the newest, then wait. It should be out in mid 2008 or early 2009. If you don't mind an older model, then you should buy a used one instead.
Look here for the testing of the new TSX: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1401445&postcount=1

Thanks for your prompt replies. I've just heard that free CTP, stamp duty and rego will end at the end of the month. So looks like i'm gonna make the purchase this weekend.

When I bought my car back in 2004, I bargained and got free CTP, stamp duty and rego, floor mats and mudflaps. If you bought the Euro last year, you would have got 1 year comprehensive insurance free as well. So don't be so rushed just because they say it's ending at the end of the month. You can always bargain and get it free anyway.

I reckon go for it now if you like it, I just got a euro lux two weeks ago with the CTP, SD, rego, mats, guards, tints etc included and it is an awesome car for the price. At least they are giving the on road costs away now so you can haggle from there rather than haggling from full price...

I was on the phone with Larke Hoskins (Homebush) this morning and they quoted $41k drive away neg for brand new lux 2007 6MT. I'm guessing this aint bad since the RRP is $40,990. Gonna ask for all the extras, such as tinted windows, mats etc :D wish me luck

Goodluck Cupnoodle, you wont regret getting a new euro lux. If you were to look around, Steve from Larke Hoskins at Rosbery is who I dealt with my purchase, he is pretty good to deal with and get them to chuck in a couple of umbrellas, they are huge golf umbrellas. Mine was ready to pick up in two days with them fitting the mudguards and tints.

If you can wait I would wait for the details of the new model to be released. It can't be that far away - less than 6 months. You can still end up buying the current Euro if you choose to do so and then it will truly be run out and at good prices. Do you really want to spend $41k on a model that is almost 5 years into its life cycle?

Also end of the month is good. You'll always get a good deal if you buy what's in stock(on the floor) as well.BTW i don't think we'll see the new Euro till the 2nd half of next year.

which probably means that July '08 or a little earlier will be a great time to get the current model Euro since they'll want to clear all their current stock for the new model.

If you still want the current model, wil til the middle of next year when the new Euro is announced. Then you can even get free on roads, 1 year insurance, extended warranty and probably a whole range of accessories free.

we just bought a tourer becuase of the options,,,,,,, and good price
the current shape is sweet n smooth

do a search on google for acura 2009 tsx etc and you will find some spy shots of the same car we will be getting here in oz. "april" as another member qouted................ i didnt mind paying for a new car over a used version, so i bought a tourer ...if i love the new euro looks more ill trade in the tourer, who cares if i have to pay a bit more hard earned dollars,,,,,,,,, ive got an awesome car now......

(ps long time ago a mate waited for the new wrx which turned out to be the bug eye ones that flopped, so wait till they get it right ,or buy now the new euro could end up looking crap to the current shape)

look for the Chris Doane photos rather than the other ones that give reference to a different model covered in all black.................

EDIT: oops or just look here dont regularly check this section guess i must now http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76199

Hey cup noodle,

I was working for Honda Australia at the Sydney international motor show and we we're told that the new Accord Euro would be released late 2008. If you can wait another year, might be worth it. :)

I reckon that everything that is on the Tourer will be in the base Euro.

I think you are right.

It wouldn't surprise me if we also see another release of the 2006 Sport edition. That with sat nav would be sweet.

lol that warranty is only a mechanical one, and u MUST service at the dealer for 6 years to keep it. After the honda one it starts but only covers internal engine and gear box.

I am surprised that used prices are still so high for late model Euros. The amount I see some people asking for second hand Euros is ridiculous. Today I saw a 06 Lux with 52,000kms on it for $37k. Most people are dreaming... ;)

Exactly, but most sellers are not that serious about selling. Most are testing the market and only willing to let go at the right price.

Those who are serious will take their cars to the dealers and get a quote, slap 1-2k on top of that and advertise it. The car will get sold quick and seller get above average price, a win-win situation.

Sorta off topic but i hope it helps..

a friend of mine who works in Honda HQ tells me that the whole reason this years Sydney international motor show was soOOo ill equiped with new hondas.. is that their waiting for next years show to reveal the new euro, civic coupe as far as they know

so yes.. the all new euro would be coming out in late 2008 early 2009.
