Hi guys, I m thinking to get a manual CD Accord, thought they were using 2.2L Vtec in my country. I m wondering are they using 2.3L Vtec in here ? ....Is it H22A ? And whats the different with Vti and VtiS ?

Also would Civic/Intergra gearboxes fit into CD Accords?

Thanks guys

they use a 2.2 in australia, no, they dont use anything else in australia.

vti and vti-s use the same engine sohc 2.2 vtec. engine code f22b1

h22a was not an option in australia but can be fitted without too much hassle.

and no, civic and integra boxes wont fit. why do u ask anyways?

No difference mechanically between vti and vtis, vti is lighter, and i don't think you can get a manual vti-s.

H22A only came out in the CD-5 Accord SiR, a JDM only car

You're right but you're not right.

The 5th Gen JDM Accord lineup has the following cars:

CD6 - 2.2 DOHC (H22a)
CD5 - 2.2 SOHC (F22b1 and F22b2)
CD4 - 2.0 SOHC (F20B)
CD3 - 1.8 SOHC (F18B)
CD7 (COUPE) - 2.2 DOHC (H22a) and SOHC (F22b1)

I've seen the coupe sir listed as a CD8 but that might be US only.

You can get the VTi-S in manual, a few of us here have them

Thanks a lot guys !!!

I was asking about the gearbox as its bloody hard to find a manual CD Vtec Accord, so I was wondering if it can fit the Integra or Civic boxes as I can easliy source them.

Dont think its worth to do a transplant with H22A, may think of other options(cars) instead.

Anyway ...Accord is a great car with 4 drs and not too thirsty...

Cheers

Can you use a H series gearbox on a accord with the F22B1 engine? Does anyone know if there much difference between them in gear ratios, etc..?

yeh you can, they are interchangable. The h22a box is a lot shorter than the F22B1 box from second gear on, with the H23 box somewhere in the middle of the two
