i just got my vtir dc2 integra after a series of repairs
and i was just wondering is it normal for the rear rims to be pretty much on the guards. i got aftermarket 15 inch rims with 205/55 tyres and the rims are pretty much on the guards and when i turn they scrape. ive been told by my mechanic that theyre stock springs but seems pretty low 2 me.

also the exhaust is stock from tip to extractors but it seems to be a lot louder than my mates dc4 gsi. might be a leak in the exhaust but are the vtirs louder? than gsi. the only mod i have is 3 inch cai piping and k&n pod filter. would this be adding.

if they are the stock springs they sure aren't the stock height =]
i have 205/55/15 aswell and there is about a 5-6cms gap between the wheel and the guard.

yeh the CAI and air filter contributes to the noise
and from wat u hear im guessing is a loud exhaust inside ur car.
but outside u generally hear nothing.
my car also has teh same mods as ur car.
cept my springs are changed and no-where near as low as urs.lols

Sounds a little suss to me, perhaps cut stock springs?
Stock should look like this,

^^ yeh like that, thats stock.

hey man u have no gap at the rear bumper. like most integras i see have a small gap closer to the wheel arc. and a massive gap nearer to the rear.
and i got the massive gap although neva been in accident...

i doubt they are cut stock springs because the suspension feels good. i had cut springs in my nissan before and the suspension felt like shit after doing it (it was a really stupid thing i did). also the drivers side rear spring was changed so it would be really coincidental that my mechanic bought lowered springs at same height.
on the plus side after getting my guards rolled i wont have to think about lowering the car lol

you said you got it after a series of repairs, what was it that needed repairing. if you can find out what repairs have been done, it might (or might not) have something to do with the scraping when you turn. it could be that your shocks are gone or the car is sitting to low. it could be manythings.

if the rim itself is sitting on the guard than i doubt it would be the stock spring, even if the tyre was sitting on the guard it wouldnt be stock springs. and since you have 15'' rims that sit on the guards it would have to be very low.

my suggestion is to take it to a suspension speciallist and they shoud be able to find out whats wrong.

repairs were that drivers side rear suspension (hub, strut and lcas were replaced) but the passenger side was untouched
i might have exagerated the height
the height is prob close to the type r suspension (when i looked today there is about 1 thumb gap. also over speed humps there wasnt much scraping (mainly on quicker turns only)

Can you find any scrape marks on the wheel, tyre wall or tread? Pics would help.

maybe you have dc2r sussy with dc2r lcas. I've got jdm lcas and dc2r coilovers I'm running sits lower at the back then the front...

i highly doubt its dc2r sussy as only one side got changed and it only costed 200 in parts. if one side is changed with dc2r parts then wouldnt the car sit on an angle

do you have one of the earlier vtir? did the previous owner put lowered springs in without changing the struts? it just might be a case of the struts being worn out as they where not designed to be drivin with lowed springs. over a long period of time factory shocks with lowered springs in place will tend to leak due to the suspension travel being reduced substantially. if this is the case then your bump stops are more than likely hitting/worn out and the whole strut will need replacing. if you want to go a cheaper alternative just get the struts regassed, but replacing them would be much better. hope this helps you out.
