you can either go jdm or kit. stock i FTL

jdm: your car will look tough however at most you will only turn the heads of enthusiasts.

kit: you will have to baby the thing at all times seeing as how its so fragile. you wont able to lower your car as much but you will definately turn more heads.

you could always get a front and rear lip kit instead of full bumpers to reduce overall cost

It's all personal preference, but I agree that front and rear lip are the way to go.

You can get cheap lips from people on here, ive seen front lips from around $120.

And i'd go with lips over body kits, i think it looks much nicer. And your car can generally be lower, which fills the guards more compared to having a bodykit which comes down more. If you get me....

Fibreglass is heavier than plastic you mean.

To the thread starter, if you are going to get a fibreglass bodykit, please ensure that your car isn't dumped too low. Many problems will arise.

Yeah fibreglass is much heavier!

I had that problem with my ride being too low and I put a kit on it. Ended up taking it off. Seriously...too many problems

stock is cheaper and the cops will hassle you less.

lol - even if u had a full jdm lip kit n lowered your car harcore youd have problems no ? lol

so u can havea kit n still have your car legal height - no ones sayin its an obligation to drop your car to 2inches above ground if u gota kit.

I love body kits but all the sleeper and JDM boys will jump on my head lol

You can still run completely legal with a body kit.. and lowered..

Here's my car and its ALL engineered !!!

personal preference i reckon, if you see a nice bodykit then go for that but if you dont like any then maybe find some lips that you like, but then again it depends on how much you willing to spend and all that also

My whole body kit cost me $350 bucks

I don't like over the top kits though lol

Then don't add an unecessary body kit! My personal bias from a purely aesthetic regard FWIW is toward a more stock look with maybe a slight lowering and slightly wider rubber. OK, so it may not be very adventurous, but IMO looks purposeful without looking like a pose (I've seen some pig ugly body kits, maybe that's what's putting me off the whole idea).

Spend money where it makes a real difference, which isn't on looks. No kit attracts less attention from our finest too (and I don't mean women!).

Lukezen27: that actually doesnt look too bad imho (and im more of a jdm guy) the rims imho are a little to big for my tasting (jdm is kicking on Y0)

to the topic starter: if you see a nice lip then go for it...if you see a nice body kit go for it

body kits can look nice but imho body kits look better without the chromies/oversides rims+tyres

when i look at doing things asthetically with my car i try and remember one thing....function over fashion (and i painted my petrol door black) i try and find a way to have it functional and fashionable with having to worry about defects

if you can put a body kit on and lower the car without being defected and crapping everytime you see a pot hole...good for you i say :)

go look around and what people have done via body kit and jdm styling/lip kit and see what you like dont just listen to what a majority/minority say

hell you may even be able to find a inbetween like a jdm front lip and small back kit/bar ;)

Bodykit = rice

Spend the money on making it go faster, do the sleeper look.

I had a big wing and big rims hahaha.

Nothing looks sillier than a big wing on a road car, not even huge rims and cannon exhausts!

Wings only provide significant downforce at speeds you should be instantly jailed for, but add enough drag at hwy speeds to affect economy more than you'd really want.

PS Come to think of it, there is at least one thing that looks sillier than a big wing, and that's mural paintwork.

If you want a kit then get it but you might regret it. If you get a lip kit you can allways take it back off to standard if you like. The choice is yours but recommend getting coilovers if you get a kit so you can adjust it at the height that suits your area otherwise you going to be hating going to your local shopping centre.

Fo55il
07-02-2008, 10:44 PM
lol - wtf

how can u regret it ? U can always take the kit off and put your stock parts back on to ...

i do it all d time ...

the best thign to remember is that .. plan what u gon get ..

dun get ultra super low springs then get a huge kit ...

get the kit first tehn decide on the sprigns or coilovers or what ever it is u want ...

nahh body kits out of the question .. well it all depends on your taste.. im not the type that likes body kits so i'd say no.. well for Honda's no! other branches few looks nice..

Why not trying Additional parts like:

LIPS
REAR LIPS
GRILLS

still makes a good diffrence

Well i was 16 when i started to mod my car. was noobish back then hahaha, so had a big gt wing as i wa saying iwas going ot turbo the thing butnever gots to and now went to a b20b8 lol.

My suggest is if you don't like to race better of doing it JDM style meaning nicely JDM riced or just normal lip kits all around ya car. When ya grow up ya will hate the ricey cars.
