Hi-power Racing Crx Wakefield 1.07

JUST to COnfirm..

We manage to pull off a 1.07 sec in wakefield last Thrusday.

pretty happy but still think that we can actually manage a better time if :

1) TRACK wasnt wet (thank god the sun shined later that evening).
2) ROb had more time to Practice.
3) We selected the right Gearing Ratio (youtube.com lies haha).
4) We were used to The autosalon magazines time attack format
5) and had our new tyres scrubbed during practice not during our time attack lap.. haha
6) Track was warmer for our tyres to work 100%

However we are very happy that with our first time on the track on a wet day we managed to pull off a 67secs Lap time with little or zero PRactice.:thumbsup:

i would like to elaborate more but you will be able to read more in issue 63 Auto salon mag.

Last but not least i would like to thank all the people involved in this whole exercise...

Robbie For excellent driving, Proving that he is one of the best drivers out there and best friend.

Dean for HArd work, Good mechanical skill's that showed as our car never ever broke down on Track meets.

JAmie for photos (which i will ask him to post up.), and his wrong research but i still appreciate it.

LEbo RoboCOp for driving/towing 16 hours from brisbane to Wakefield.

Little Shit for Sleeping, Eating, Shitting, laughing and Farting (you really are useless)

the bob for the RE55s that we could not really scrub

and the team at Autosalon magazine for an event well held.

THanks everyone, Was long but good trip. It was very hard to do good times as we have never been there before and the weather didnt help.

We didnt really get any dry running time, as both practice session in the morning was wet and the afternoon 2 superlaps was in the dry. We thought there was a 3rd practice session but it wasnt. So we didnt get a chance to scrub the new tyres in. First time lap was very poor as the tyres wernt scrubbed in and caused me to make quite a few mistakes, ended up with 1:09.

On the 2nd superlap was much better even tho I made a few mistakes and probly too cautious on some corners and still ended up with 1:07.6. Was quite happy with that even though I know the car is capable of a Low 1:06.

The setup for QR wasnt ideal for Wakefield. We were too stiff and also the gearing was too short for this track. We will certainly make changes to the next event!

Thanks to everyone for coming and we look forward to next years battle.

Thanks everyone.. just watch this space. We will be going again next event next year. 1:05s is possible with this car (1 sec from more track knowledge 1 sec from car setup). From the experience we gain from this event there is alot of things we can change to make the car suit this track more. :)
