Hey,

I Bought a oil pressure gauge a while back and thought its time to put it in. Its a electrical sender type, the instructions are vauge. It says to connect the orange wire to the oil pressure sensor.
The questions i have are, can i just connect to the wire where it enters the ecu, keeping the standard oil pressure light? and which colour wire is this?
or will i need to modify sensor with a t-piece and add a second sendor or something??.
Its a ek1 civic.

Cheers

you will need to add the t peice and a sender for the oil pressure guage. the sender for the light is a on off type switch only

Yeah a T piece of the block is what you need to do, although i don't reccommend it.

You should try to get a sandwhich plate which goes between your oil filter and engine block and has extra fittings for oil pressure sensors. Much better and safer option. (i had to fix my broken t piece recently)

Ok, thanks for the replys guys.
I have decided to go with a sandwich plate, if i can find one. As i will most likely add a oil temp later on.
Does anyone know of any stores that stock sandwich plates, I have asked a few local places and they dont have them.

im sure there would be some on ebay.....wouldnt trust them with such an important roll right at the most pressurised part of your oil system though.

sandwich plate fail = dump your oil = switch car off real quick before it makes crsshhshclunkclunk noises....which it prob will unless your watching your gauge like a hawk

There is nothing wrong with sandwhich plate. I have used one and have been used by others extensivly, I don't think I have ever heard of anyone having a problem with them. Just get a decent brand name it you will be fine.
