Hello there everyone, hope this is the right section, just wanted to show off my audio setup, the last bit of finishing my interior.

Bought my head unit on Friday, kindly installed by my brother and his friend.. Its a JVC KD-G335, fairly entry level but hey, I'm poor and its all I need for now. Makes my interior look rather smooth now that the chunky tape deck is gone.

And then we come to the speakers. I'd had them for a while, were installed a few weeks ago.. Clarion splits in the front with custom tweeter mounts (as pictured) and a set of Pioneer 4 ways in the back.. all good there, don't have any pics of them cause they're all hidden under covers.

Tweeter mounts:

Then, the major part of the project was the boom boom. I got 2x12" Sony Xplod subs from my brother when he upgraded his subs. So from there we had to design and build the box. The main idea was to preserve as much boot space as possible but also to get the best sound that we could.

Basically, we decided to make a box with the subs facing towards the back seats, and then have a step up over the spare tyre. Then we got fancy and made a window in the back so you could see the magnets of the subs. The exterior of the box was carpeted, and the inside was lined with shiney red vinyl, with carbon fibre stuff around the sub rings. And then we put in a red neon cause I'm ricey and over the top like that :P

So yeah, here are some pictures for you all, I think it came out brilliant, but hey, each to their own. I do have to say that I basically did none of the work here, my brother did it all, and a fine job at that. Sorry its such a long thread hahah.

Freshly carpeted, inside covered also:

Yeh a guy told me to try it.That's flippng the speaker over and then the wires to the sub, runing them to the opposite i.e. + to - and vice versa.Gotta make sure you have a hole in the box also.If there isn't one already, you can do like I did and buy the plastic piece from J car and a drill bit from bunnings and glue it in there.
It sounds Soooo much better.Deeper,louder,punchier.It has more of a frequency range now.Awesome!

good job on the ICE. eventhough the JVC is entry level, u did the right thing and replaced the cassette player (did u check to make sure ur MC Hammer tape wasnt in there when u pulled it out - hammer time!). looks heaps better now with the new head.

and well done to ur bro for installing it all. so, did he do it all for free?

hahah My ipod cassette adaptor was swiftly removed before the tape deck was scrapped. Was going to get some kind of double din/dvd player thing going on but decided I won't be watching a screen while I'm driving. The JVC seems fine, it pumps enough and plays mp3s, all I really need for now anyway.

Haha and yes, he did it for free, because he's nice like that.
