Hi all,

My 1992 DA9 had a bit of a radiator mishap the other day, driving along happily on a mild day, sudden cloud of steam from under the bonnet, temp gauge went straight to max, pulled over within about 400 metres happily fight out the front of an Ultratune.
Car was obviously shut down straight away.
Left the car with Ultratune, they removed the radiator and had it repaired (split top tank), put it back and replaced coolant.... $380 ... Ka ching.
Car seemed completely normal for about half a day when suddenly the ECU comes on, the behaviour of the engine doesn't change but the gear changes start feeling sluggish and mistimed (obviously an auto). If you stop and turn off the engine and then straight back on, the light goes out and the gear changes seem normal again for a few km's and then the ECU light will come on again and the whole thing is repeated.
The ECU is flashing codes 1, 15 and 43, although I think the 15 code might be left over from when I had a dodgey igniter a while back.

Any ideas ?

Try reading thru this thread (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67113) first & click on the links for the ecu codes u have.

Yeh, I did read that thread, that is what is not making sense.

1 is oxygen sensor #1
15 is ignition output signal
43 is fuel supply system

how can those things be affecting the gear change ?

I'm no expert on this stuff so take anything I say with a grain of salt.

The bad changes and such are probably because of the car going into limp mode, because the ecu thinks the car has fueling problems it buts the car into limp mode to help reduce the likely hood of doing damage.

I assume you've done the obvious and reset your ecu?

you should of reseted your ecu inorder to clear that code. Try reseting your ecu then read the code again to see where your problem is

Thanks guys, I'll try the ECU reset first and then see what codes I get.
Now ... to do a search on how to reset the ECU ... :-)

Pull out the ecu fuse for about 10 seconds.

Is the ECU fuse marked as such ?
