i was gonna leave my eg civic im building stripped since i took the dash out for the conversion and i had the carpet out for replacing and all plastic trims removed for a good clean.but theres just too much cruising too be done.

The cabin does become noisier and u can hear every creak and bump, alot of road noise too....but i felt this made the car more fun to drive. Did seem to have better acceleration and cornering, not great....ur ef wont suddenly feel like its seam welded and running the perfect setup....just feels a bit sharper.
In the end,i couldnt justify leaving the interior out as i often have people in the back seat and i am a sucker for audio installs.

im pretty sure its illegal to have the stripped interior.i dont have a roadworthy book on me to check it properly but we certainly wouldnt pass a stripped car for roadworthy.
not allowed to have exposed metal body parts legally in the cabin as far as im aware

yeah i doin the swap myself, and the interior myself....cause im a broke ass apprentice mechanic haha.check out the thread i made bout it last night in my signiture.its been frustrating at times but all in all a much more rewarding experience then handing a shop a pile of money and getting a car you know nothing about at the end

I think if i was stripping the interior i would remove back seats and everything down the centre of the car.but probably would leave the side plastics in (i had these out of my eg the other day and they weigh hardly anything) as it would be hard to make anything to cover the side panels without looking ultra dodgy.you could probably get away with that if you did a nice wire tuck in the cabin to tidy it up

lol nah might keep it in... i guess its more of a cosmetic thing haha yeah i wanna do engine swap too.. i have a older ED civic.. carby also..was thinking of b16 or just a d16 vtec sohc not sure though..

there are two ways of stripping the cars interior in my opinion.

the conservative way and the hardcore way.

The convervative way is basically getting rid of the unneeded bits, spare wheel, rear seat if its a 2dr and registered for 2dr, maybe carpet, rear plastics etc - its 'conservative'

hardcore - you basically get rid off everything, as much as you can but for a street car you have to have a dash in, your doors have to have panels to cover the door, heater and cooler core from under the dash, consoles, seats replaced with race seats etc... the full shibang.

i think you have to leave the fan assembly under the dash as its unroadworthy to not have a way of de-misting the windscreen...no a rag does not count lol.

i agree with the conservative and extreme strip attitude....would be so nice to strip my car but i cant justify it while its my daily driver...maybe a bit later on

yes - for street you have to leave the fan in, for track (b-class registration) you rip it out - i believe that alone is about 10kgs.
