ur tank is a 45L bro =)

you should have a good 10L left when that light comes on.

full tank varies depending on the car and how its been maintained. i know some ek4s can get up to like 550km with some vtec. i get around 500 before i fill up and wen i do theres about a good 4L left or so.

does your gauge work properly?? mine goes up and down.. depending on how it feels... ahha as crazy as that sounds... like when its sleeping in my garage.. its like really low.. when its around the 400km mark.. and then it suddenly goes up to half tank full when i'm driving around..... then when i'm going up a hill it goes to really low on the gauge.. n i never really know when i'm gonna run out of petrol LOL... ive only ever seen my petrol light pop on once.. and i went to the nearest petrol station LOL.. i was so scared....

n e clues on how to fix my prob.. or is it just like that

mine does the exact same thing, when i 1st start her up in the mornings its lower than wat it reads a few mins later :S dno y but its stil accurate. and the up n down on the hill thing, is coz theres a floaty thing like in ur toilet that measures the fuel level. and when ur on a hill the fuel moves to the back/front, giving u an inaccurate reading.

It's just like that.. you'll notice if your on a hill it'll change varying on what way you'll face, say im going up a hill my petty light would go on but it would jump up when i'm going down.. I guess its gotta do with the movement with the petrol in the tank, it's completely normal, with honda's anyway not so sure with other cars

Yeah, my fuel gauge needle goes up and down a lot too.

Even the fuel light seems stuffed, when its about 1/4 full, it turns on for about 2 seconds, then turns itself off, and won't come back on for another 10 or so km's. So I don't really know if I should bother to fill up or not.

i hate parking on hills, my gauge shoots down to like zero sometimes.
if you really want to find out.... put some petrol in a spare plastic tank, then drive around with the fuel light on, and see how far u go... then when you run out, fill up with the spare petrol container.. hehehe

I'd recommend against this, its not a smart idea to run your car dry..
why dont you just fill up when you reach the 400 or 450 mark, does it really matter how much you get out of a tank.

you can figure out L\100 kms easily by how much you fill up and how many kms u've driven.

Agreed. Running dry last year cost me a brand new fuel pump. Damn thing ran like shit before I could get it pulled and fixed lol But yeah, unless you want to be paying a good 150-250 for a new pump, don't run it dry. It'll be sucking up dirty crap from the bottom of the tank...nobody really knows whats down there lol

My EG3 w/D16Y1 get around 450-500 before I top up. When I do, theres at least 10ltrs left. So it'd net me 600k's if I keep going but it's just not worth it.

The pump also gets quite hot as well so keeping some fuel in there keeps it cooler. It's recommended that you fill up every half tank to keep the pump alive for longer (better yet, fill up as soon as it's CHEAP! LOL). It's the same thing as filling up a full tank every time your on empty, cept filling up once or twice extra a week/two weeks. At least you'll know your pump is cool, and the life expectancy won't be as short compared to filling up close to empty.
