It helps heaps. Look in your Car Manuel. for ecu fuse it so easy ay!!!

OK I think the fuse is in the fuse box near the battery, take the fuse out it (5sec) then replace it. then start the car and leave it runnig for 3min before you start reving it and trying it out :)

no there are like 15 different fuses. Refer to the owners manuel for the number of the fuse. OK i cant tell you with out looking at the book.

you can take the battery of for 10min but it stuffs you radio and window funtion for a while somet=imes like days

DONT reset the ecu. IT will make your car run rich and use more fuel for the next tank or two.
Just run the car as normal , and the ECU will adjust to compensate for the freer flowing exhaust . Mind you , to actually gain power you should have a proper CAI too

EL_DC5

ahhh, I think he would rather want a power gain then to save a bite of fuel, IMO. when i mod'd my car there was a slit increase in power from 120 kwatw to 124, then reset ecu = 129.8KillerWasps atw's

How long after putting ont eh system did you dyno ? After , you reset the ECU and dynoed again straight away ?

Correct me if wrong

id assume thats because the ecu is running richer - but this will reduce back to a number inbetween your 124 and 129.8 kwatw.

It was all done after the other. about 10 min after the ecu was reset.

It was then dynoed at a different place at 128.4

I was told buy a tuners that this gives results

its only a matter of time. Your ECU cannot give more power just like that lol. Over time ( km's of driving ) a ECU will self trim to optimum automatically.

Can anyone confirm here ?
What is the quickest way to benefit from a bolt on mod ? ( I/H/E)
1.reset your ECU
2.Leave the car be. And wait for teh ECU to self adjust.
Both will give the same end result

You can even feel the power man...

have you had a bad experiance with resetting the ECU that u dont like to touch it???

No thats not the point :) My point is " the ecu will self adjust after an amount of time anyway". So , if you reset your ECU and drive say 2 weeks you will have the same power as not resetting your ECU.

I just prefer to disconnect the battery for a few hrs. Altho this way is easier, you will have to reset clock and Stereo.

As far as I understand it when you reset the ecu it will lose all its data and go back to a conservative and rich setting. It will then slowly lean the mixture out until it reaches the point where it starts losing power.
It will use more fuel in the short term but depending on the system and the car it should end up back near its origonal fuel consumption.

Without reseting the ecu isn't it less likely to increase the richness of the mixture as it already has a setting which is pretty optimum for fuel useage.

Do ecu's continue to learn and keep slowly adjusting the mixture or do they find a good middle ground and stay there? This has got me curious, does anyone know for sure how your standard ecu works in regards to mods?

To the Op there should be a diagram on the back of the fuse cover (well there is on every car I've ever touched) which shows all the fuses and their locations and amperage.

told u that u need the code ready first before resetting

go into honda dealer with ur proof of ownership

they sld give u the code

go to the one where ur 1 is bought originally cuz i think if u go to another

dealer they charge u a fee
