Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

Aim: To change boring stock silver rocker cover to sexy Red rocker cover
Required: DC5R red rocker cover (Part#12310-PRC-505)
Blue RTV liquid gasket
4x Glad bags (plastic sandwhich bags)
Optional: DC5R spark plug cover (Part #12500-PRC-020)
Silver Oilcap (i used mugen)
JDM dipstick (i painted my stock one silver)
Time: less than an hour
Conclusion: excellent bling mod! very sexy

1. Remove spark plug cover (4x bolts), Intake manifold cover (2x bolts)(theres also a small pin which holds the cover in the centre, just pull the cover directly/carefully up after removing bolts)
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/DSCF1457Small.jpg

2. Get DC5 rocker cover out, make sure theres no sharp edges around the gasket groove, and that you know which way it goes on...
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/DSCF1456Small.jpg

3. Remove the four bolts holding the coil packs in (theyre the four black shinny things in the middle of the rocker cover). pull them straight out and place them inside glad bags (so as not to get them dirty) and then just move them out of the way along with the cable holder.

4. Remove power steering lines bolt, coolant line bolts (x2) and undo rocker cover nuts (x6). Remove washer and swash plates off each bolt (be very carefull not the damage or loose these!)
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/DSCF1462Small.jpg

5. Once removed, clear away all the old liquid gasket remains from the block, being careful not to let it fall into the engine. Once thats done swap the old rubber gasket onto the new cover, now would be a good time to clear away any debri thats collected on it
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/DSCF1466Small.jpg

6. Apply blue RTV liquid gasket to the four spots marked below (thanks aaronng for the diagram!)
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/liquid.jpg
the ends im talking about above are marked in this photo below by the red circles... and i made little yellow circles to show the two spots on the front that require the gasket liquid...
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/DSCF1463Small.jpg
when you look at the engine it will be obvious, its just where the joins are in the block

7. Time is of the essence now, you only have 5mins from when applying the liquid gasket to fitting the cover, so make sure you have all your bolts/nuts/washers ready to go... fit the rocker cover back on, tighten nuts to 12nm torque (i broke two doing it this way! ended up just tightning by feel)
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff128/eur003/DSCF1469Small.jpg

8. Now just replace everything in reverse order, put on your new spark plug cover (if applicable), put your dipstick back in, and replace oil cap (if using a new cap, wipe a thin layer of oil over rubber oring before installing)... stand back and admire:

i didnt get them direct thru honda - i used response auto
http://www.shopresponse.com/jdm.html
they import direct from honda japan and then sell to the public... cost me about AUD$180 for the rocker cover.... theyre really good guys, normally have what you ordered within 7days!

Perfect write up.
Dont know if it matters, but at work we always put the coil packs back into the cylinder they came out of. I know ill be putting them back in where they came from.

Love the detail you went into though, didnt miss a step!

Im about to attempt to paint my Euro rocker cover tomorrow

Sorry to revive this thread, but can you re-use the spark plug hole gaskets and the metal washer grommets from the old rocker cover?

The middle ones also serve to secure the coil packs on the rocker cover. Make sure you find some replacement bolts of the correct length for these.

i see so i cant use them ones wat happend is i took the oem spark plug cover tried to remove the bolts with two spanners and ended up snapping the oem spark plug cover in half -_- epic fail. so ill need to get different ones without the nut and the same length on the bottom is that wat you mean ?
